Showcasing Our Battery-Free Solutions

During the event, Dylan Broomfield showcased our innovative Smarterlite Environmental Exit Sign, highlighting a crucial aspect of sustainability: reducing e-waste.

Some salient facts that he highlighted, based on the assumption that currently there are at least 100 million old-tech Electric Battery Exit Signs currently in use in Australia, were that if they were replaced with Smarterlite’s Environmental Exit Sign it is the equivalent of:
• saving 500 MW of power, which is taking a power plant out of the energy grid, or
• in terms of carbon emissions, taking over 1.6 million cars off the road each year, which is 4 million tonnes of carbon saved per year; and
• Would save business, government and the community nearly $900 million per year.

Kiarne Treacy, CEO of Sustainable Choice Group, with Dylan Broomfield, Principal Advisor for Polar Infrastructure, speaking about the impact of old-tech Electric-Battery Exit Signs and how Smarterlite is making a difference.

Did you know that old-tech exit sign batteries are often the first component to fail and are rarely covered by warranty?  With Smarterlite’s NCC 2019 compliant photoluminescent and hybrid Exit Signs, you can eliminate batteries entirely. This not only reduces e-waste and lowers operating costs but also significantly reduces your carbon footprint and enhances safety in your facilities.

Networking for a Sustainable Future
